Morris FingerPicking Day 2020 scheduled to be held on April 11th will be canceled to prevent the spread of the coronavirus.
As a result of considering overseas travel regulations that have already been implemented and the safety of visitors, this time the FPD will be canceled.
We also considered postponing the tournament. However, due to the Tokyo Olympics, the alternative venue and schedule could not be adjusted,so this time we decided to cancel the FPD.
For those who passed this year’s qualifiers will be eligible to participate in the FingerPicking Day 2021 Final scheduled for spring 2021.
As for the qualifying session for 2021, we will trim down the selection process and will not hold preliminary audition based on recorded songs, instead only live performance audition will be held in Tokyo (organized by Ikebe-gakki), in Osaka (organized by Miki-gakki) and in Fukuoka (organized by Shimamura-gakki).
Details will be informed from respective organizers in each region around this fall.
We are sorry for those who looked forward to the event but we appreciate your understanding in order to avoid the risk of spreading the infection.
