Announcement of cancellation for 2021 Morris Finger-Picking Day
After the cancellation of "2020 Morris Finger Picking Day", we have been preparing for "2021 Morris Finger Picking Day" while focusing on safety assurance more than ever before. However due to ongoing COVID-19 pandemic which does not seem to subside, regretfully we have decided to cancel 2021 FPD as well.
Although we have considered to hold the event online or no audience at the venue, we came to a conclusion that such a way will not only pose a question on fair judgement but also will not be able to provide satisfactory experience all participants.
Those who qualified from 2020 preliminary contests are automatically entitled to FPD main event scheduled in sprig of 2022.
The regional contests scheduled around the end of 2021 to beginning of 2022 in Tokyo, Osaka and Fukuoka are currently planned to be held assuming COVID-19 outbreak will be coming to an end by that time.
Those who won the respective regional contest earn a spot to perform at 2022 FPD.
However since available spots for FPD are already limited from above reasons, we will not be holding an open audition based on audio recording provided from applicants including domestic and overseas as we would normally do.
We are deeply regretful to make this announcement to all the people looking forward to the event including qualified contestants and potential applicants who have worked hard so far. But we truly appreciate your kind understanding on our effort to ensure holding a safe, reliable and transparent event.
